Just so everyone on the internet gets on the same page with this (the rest of you that were not fooled can simply ignore this) and does not fall for this silly hoax yet again, I have created this image to help the situation out.
2012 is not a real date that the DeLorean used in Back To The Future. Someone basically altered the screenshots in Photoshop and passed them around.
Apparently, someone also did this in 2010 as well. The date October 26, 1985 was edited to July 5, 2010.
The correct dates are below.
* October 26th 1985 (1 minute into the future, to send the Doc’s dog through time as a test) * November 5th 1955 (Where Marty ends up and the date the Flux Capacitor was discovered) * July 4th 1776 (The Declaration Of Independence date, Doc showing Marty where they ‘could go’) * December 25th 0000 (Same as above, birth of Jesus date) * October 21st 2015 (Marty travels to the future)
He DOES NOT set the time circuits for anytime in 2012 (or 2010 for that matter).
The original 2010 confusion came about probably because it is Doc Brown’s intention to go “25 years into the future” (on Oct 26th 1985) but he was not able to travel through time at this point, as he is chased down by the Lybians before he manages to put this date in.
I look forward to celebrating the actual Future Day on October 21st 2015.
